THE ROLE:
The Manager will be responsible for Corporate consolidation cost accounting, reporting and analysis. Responsibilities include Global consolidation accounting and reporting of various countries Gross Profit activities, analysis and reporting of global inventory, preparation of and assisting with monthly elimination and review of Transfer Profit as well as assisting with various ad hoc projects and reporting requests.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
• Ensure timely delivery of the monthly and quarterly Gross Profit and Inventory Reporting package to management. The reporting package includes the analysis and reporting related to Gross Profit and Inventory measures.
• Leverage team members to ensure timely review and analysis of Gross Profit for the various Herbalife entities throughout the world at the consolidated level. Incorporate material findings into global reporting.
• Lead global intercompany Transfer Pricing accounting related to the distribution of our products amongst our various countries helping ensure the proper elimination of Transfer Profit.
• Identify and address Corporate level reporting and operational risk.
• Assist with 10Q/10K MD&A preparation and related Inventory and Gross Profit footnotes.
• Update monthly and quarterly Inventory fluctuation summary establishing related explanations for changes.
• Identify and report key reasons for variations in Gross Profit rate, which will include estimating the impact of changes in FX rates, price increases, changes in sourcing cost, and other factors impacting the business.
• Lead monthly updating of the Gross Profit models and trend analysis.
• Adapt/modify Gross Profit and Inventory models to capture changes in the business.
• Provide assistance with ad hoc projects as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM:
This role is part of the global cost accounting team based in Torrance, California interacting with regional cost accounting teams in Mexico, Poland and Malaysia. Responsibilities also include engagement with our regional controllership teams, Supply Chain management, Global Purchasing and FP&A teams. The cost accounting team is driven to provide value added analysis and streamline/automate processes where possible.
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
• Strong accounting skills and experience, in conjunction with strong analytical skills.
• Standout colleague and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, and ability to properly prioritize.
• 7+ years accounting experience
• 2+ years inventory/cost accounting-related experience
• Strong knowledge in all MS Office applications, particularly in Excel, including the ability to perform pivot tables, VLOOKUP and high-level functions and formulas
• Experience using leading ERP software (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will have no supervisory responsibilities.
Education:
• Bachelor's (BS/BA/BBA) degree in Accounting
