Overview

THE ROLE
 
The Director, Strategic Projects & Programs will serve as a trusted strategic partner to the Chief Strategy Officer, helping drive alignment, execution, communication, and operational effectiveness across the Strategy organization.

 

The Director, Strategic Projects & Programs position combines elements of Chief of Staff, Program Management, and Business Operations leadership. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytically strong, relationship-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with multiple priorities and senior stakeholders. The role is designed to enhance organizational velocity and improve execution discipline across the strategy group, and increase the capacity of the CSO to remain focused on highest-value strategic leadership priorities.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

 

Strategic Partnership to the CSO

  • Serve as a trusted partner to the CSO across the Strategy organization.
  • Support prioritization, coordination, and follow-through across key initiatives and leadership commitments.
  • Help streamline decision flow and remove bottlenecks to maximize executive effectiveness.
  • Prepare briefings, updates, presentations, agendas, and executive communications.
  • Represent the CSO in select meetings, initiatives, and follow-up actions as appropriate.

Strategy Organization PMO & Execution Rhythm

  • Help drive execution cadence across the Strategy organization, ensuring priorities advance with speed and accountability.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, planning cycles, business reviews, and follow-up processes within the Strategy group.
  • Track key initiatives, milestones, risks, dependencies, and decisions across the strategy portfolio.
  • Identify friction points and proactively recommend solutions.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with adjacent functions to support progress on initiatives owned or sponsored by the Strategy organization.
  • Facilitate collaboration across Corporate Strategy, Strategic Initiatives, Business Development, Corporate Development, and Strategic Engineering teams.
  • Surface risks, tradeoffs, and opportunities for timely decision-making.

Communications & Visibility

  • Improve visibility of priorities, progress, and outcomes across the Strategy organization and key stakeholders.
  • Build dashboards, summaries, and reporting mechanisms that create clarity and accountability.
  • Help ensure teams are aligned and executing effectively.

Special Projects

  • Lead select high-priority projects on behalf of the CSO from concept through execution.
  • Support confidential, time-sensitive, and high-impact initiatives requiring strong Additional duties as assigned.

Leadership and Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

Skills and Background Required to Be Successful

  • 10 years of experience in strategic programs, PMO, business operations, consulting, chief of staff, executive support, or related roles.
  • Proven ability to support senior leaders in complex, matrixed, and fast-moving environments.
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and execution discipline.
  • Excellent business judgment with high discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills with executive presence and emotional intelligence.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and process-oriented.
  • Strong relationship builder who can influence through trust and collaboration.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and adapting quickly to changing priorities. Save

Success in First 12 Months

  • Improve execution rhythm across the Strategy organization.
  • Increase visibility and accountability for key priorities and initiatives.
  • Reduce bottlenecks and improve operating efficiency within the Strategy group.
  • Increase the capacity of the CSO to focus on highest-value strategic leadership priorities.
  • Build trusted partnerships across the Strategy organization and key stakeholders.
