THE ROLE:
The Senior Lab Technician understands raw material function/product shelf life and general sample testing. Understanding of mathematical and scientific principles and encompass a variety of laboratory duties ranging from maintaining the laboratory workplace to assembly of formulas. Competent in programs such as Agile, LIMS, Outlook, Excel, etc. Can handle dynamic fast-paced environment while maintaining professional mannerism. Display attitude reflective of high performer; positive, proactive, productive, focused, and informed.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
• Prepare bench top samples, perform physical/analytical test samples or products.
• Prepare/participate in samples/products for taste evaluations such as stability including documenting results in LIMS.
• Follow SOPs, work procedures, learn and understand processes as needed.
• Under general supervision, the employee receives assignments and is expected to carry them through to completion with substantial independence.
• Prioritize tasks and directions as well as ensure that tasks are delivered in a timely, accurate, and organized manner.
• Autonomously maintain cleanliness of laboratory and equipment in a clean, organized, safe, accurate, and operable condition including calibration/maintenance schedule.
• Ensure day to day functions of the lab by reviewing/resupplying/ordering inventory of ingredients, and lab supplies.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM:
Your time will mostly be spent in the R&D lab where your work is done with scientists coming in and out working with you on their projects. As such, the team dynamic is that everyone depends on us to provide for their needs to successfully launch products. We are the support that is essential and take pride in the work we do. There is no product launch if we are not here, so our work is a cornerstone in the success of the company. Time management is a mandatory skill to navigate the many needs requested from the R&D lab.
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Ability to take prioritize/manage time/multi-task independently based on business needs, as well as ensures that tasks are delivered in a timely, accurate, and organized manner.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ensuring that key individuals are properly and accurately informed of activities
• Science laboratory responsibility experience (handling, testing, formulations)
• Capability to manage and translate data and information in MS Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, Agile, and LIMS.
• Self-directed to general administrative task such as shipping, submission for tests, and tracking.
• Be able to taste and evaluate raw materials and samples
• Well-kept and hygienic in regards to food safety and cross contamination
Education
• High school graduate and/or Associate degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Scientific discipline (Preferred)
