Overview

THE ROLE: 


The VP responsible for Global Platform & Cloud Engineering will outline and carry out the vision, strategy, and delivery of our global technology platforms and cloud infrastructure. Manage cloud infrastructure, ensure site reliability, coordinate DevOps practices, lead platform development, manage databases, and ensure quality assurance. In this role, you will partner with leaders to align technology solutions with business outcomes. As VP, you will champion modern engineering practices—Infrastructure as Code, DevOps pipelines, automated testing, and scalable platform services—ensuring our systems are secure, reliable, and cost-optimized.


HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE: 


Strategic Leadership & Platform Vision
•    Define and drive the enterprise strategy for Platforms & Engineering in collaboration with Cybersecurity and Digital Office partners.
•    Establish a multi-cloud, hybrid infrastructure vision that embraces leading trends and platform engineering practices.
•    Balance innovation, scalability, and cost optimization across all infrastructure and platform initiatives.
Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture
•    Oversee global cloud strategy (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises data centers.
•    Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) to enforce compliance, security, and consistency.
•    Drive enterprise-wide cost optimization and service standardization.
Site Reliability & Operations
•    Establish and scale Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices with clear SLIs/SLOs, incident response, and automation.
•    Ensure system uptime, resilience, and disaster recovery for critical platforms.
CI/CD & DevEx Pipelines
•    Lead the adoption of automated CI/CD pipelines with coordinated security, quality, and compliance checks.
•    Foster a culture where development and operations collaborate seamlessly to accelerate delivery.
Platform Engineering
•    Build and evolve core platform services (Kubernetes, container orchestration, microservices platforms) that enable developer efficiency and self-service.
•    Ensure platforms are secure, scalable, and built for future growth.
Database & Data Platforms
•    Oversee enterprise database environments across SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL technologies.
•    Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
•    Collaborate with data leaders to support governance and modern architectures.
Quality Assurance & Testing
•    Integrate QA methodologies and test automation into the DevOps lifecycle.
•    Define frameworks, metrics, and continuous testing practices to uphold product quality.
Thought Leadership & External Presence
•    Showcase Herbalife at industry forums and conferences, establishing the company as a frontrunner in Cloud, DevOps, and platform development.
•    Act as an internal advisor and senior technical voice across the business.

By incorporating Infrastructure as Code, DevOps workflows, QA automation, and multi-cloud strategies, the team continuously builds secure systems that align with organizational objectives.

•    Multinational Team Leadership: Leads a diverse team of engineers and managers across platforms, cloud operations, SRE, CI/CD, databases, and QA.
•    Performance & Development: Establishes clear objectives, benchmarks, and accountability measures. Promotes a culture passionate about high performance.
•    Mentorship: Develops leadership capability across teams, ensuring knowledge transfer, succession planning, and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 


•    Executive Tenure: 15+ years as a technology executive with a proven track record of global leadership and transformation.
•    Engineering Leadership: Over 10 years of managing large, distributed engineering organizations and accomplishing complex, enterprise-wide initiatives.
•    Cloud & Infra Expertise: Proficiency in multiple cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform), Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation), and datacenter administration.
•    SRE & Operations: Proficient in upholding availability, streamlining processes, and managing incidents effectively.
•    CI/CD & DevOps: Deep experience building pipelines with automated testing, security, and continuous deployment.
•    Database Platforms: Proven expertise in enterprise databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, NoSQL), clustering, replication, and recovery.
•    QA Practices: Experience embedding QA automation into DevOps lifecycles.
•    Leadership & Communication: Executive presence with strong communication skills—able to influence C-level collaborators while engaging technical teams.


Education
•     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
