Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Sr. Sourcing Specialist in Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) will be responsible for representing GSS in leading and facilitating tasks that requires coordination of sourcing functions in support of NPD (New Product Development) driven projects.  Responsibility of the position includes but not limited to procuring and supplying required information, executing assigned tasks within the Agile Product Lifecycle Management database and process without the need for supervision.  In addition, the Sr. Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining and driving improvement of the GSS process within NPD project.  This position needs to have experience working in an environment that includes sourcing function, participating in and driving NPD process, and making critical decisions. The role will require to build relationships with cross functional teams, lead and drive change within the team with a sense of urgency for purpose of continuous improvement as well as timely support of NPD projects.

 

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

  • As owner of the NPD process for GSS organization, maintain the process and drive improvements.
  • As the primary bridge to the NPD project team for GSS organization, provide inputs and guidance that would influence decisions in support of the sourcing strategy while meeting the project goals.
  • Lead, manage, make critical decisions, and report on GSS assigned NPD project ensuring project is in support of related manufacturing requirements and strategies.
  • Facilitate communications between GSS team members and project team to ensure timely completion of tasks in NPD project.
  • Facilitate meeting with subject matter experts in order to ensure specific request topics are appropriately addressed, discussed, and sufficient information is gathered.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the NPD process and related tasks such as cost analysis and build relationship with the cross functional teams – GSS, HIM WS/LF, Finance, Cost Accounting, PMO, R&D, Technical Operations.
  • Procure relevant documents or cost information from suppliers/GSS for accurate cost analyst of new or existing products. Engage and facilitate discussions for resolving any cost issues with internal customers.
  • In line with corporate requirements, determine clear, comprehensive, logical presentation of rationale for decisions.  Write and edit project related information accordingly.
  • Mentor and train junior staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Collaborate with various groups, including Finance, Cost Accounting, Tech Ops, PMO, R&D, Packaging Engineering, Quality to drive changes and improvements

Experience

  • 6+ years’ relevant work experience in a regulated environment (such as food industry or other GMP or similar
  • 3+ years of project management experience, sourcing, and cost analysis
  • Experiences in a highly collaborative environment and works well with others, including internal and external stakeholders to deliver results and keeps others informed to avoid unnecessary surprises

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
