Overview

THE ROLE: 
The Senior Director, Assistant Treasurer is a key senior finance leadership role with a global scope of responsibilities, leading all aspects of worldwide cash management, an in-house bank, FX risk management and capital markets. Reporting to the Vice President and Treasurer, the Assistant Treasurer will provide leadership and be responsible for financial (including foreign exchange and interest rate) risk management, capital structure planning and analysis and capital market initiatives.  Leadership and expertise will be applied to ensure the delivery of results and the completion of global cross-functional initiatives and special projects/analysis as the need arises in support of Herbalife’s operating business and distributor-facing initiatives.  

 

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:  
•    Directly oversee the global cash management function, leveraging an in-house bank structure to identify and implement outstanding cash optimization strategies.  Lead cash flow analysis/projections and related repatriation and funding strategies for global affiliates.
•    Lead FX and interest rate risk mitigation strategy development, analysis, planning and execution
•    Manage debt capital markets strategies, communicate with internal and external collaborators, administer payments and ensure compliance with all debt covenants.
•    Leverage strong leadership and project management skills to complete Treasury and cross-functional/global initiatives and other special projects/analysis. Collaborate with and manage Treasury’s relationships with internal business partners including tax, FP&A, accounting, legal and international/domestic operating businesses and external financial institutions, including commercial banks.
•    Manage and mentor direct reporting staff and collaborate effectively with staff and leadership across the business to influence outcomes.

 

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM: 
Supporting sales and operations in over ninety countries builds evolving challenges for the Corporate Treasury team in managing cash globally and mitigating FX exposures.  Additionally, Corporate Treasury is in the midst of a structural transformation, using new tools such as a Kyriba treasury management system and an in-house bank structure to centralize operations and better streamline, automate and standardize processes.  This provides an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Treasury executive who wants to lead new initiatives and make a meaningful impact on the organization.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•    Responsible for supervising three managers and their staff in the areas of cash management, an in-house bank and FX risk management.
 

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 
•    12+ years of experience in corporate treasury in multinational public companies, including oversight over global cash management operations
•    Demonstrated progression in scope of responsibilities, leadership capacity and accountabilities. Strong “change management” skills with experience in implementing new operational structures and processes.
•    Strong analytics with proficiency in using analytical and data-driven approaches to assess opportunities and develop/implement key critical initiatives
•    Current hands-on or direct responsibility for currency risk management strategy and execution
•    Leadership role in the execution of recent capital market initiatives
•    Detailed knowledge of treasury operations, including the use of treasury management systems and in-house bank structures
