Overview

THE ROLE:

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • Monitor team's performance in replenishment, picking and packing and warehouse to ensure accuracy and productivity in processing distributor orders.
  • Walk in orders - pick and return to release area within 15 minutes.
  • Ensure that all orders are packed to minimize damage during shipping and that employees meet the accuracy of 99.5% or better.
  • Leads all aspects of employees time; recording edits in timekeeping system and schedule employee vacations, ensuring adequate coverage to meet the department’s daily productivity goals. Schedule and monitor staff with department budget in mind to minimize unnecessary overtime.
  • Ensure that employees are trained, and training is documented. Ensure staff understands Cirrus Shipping System.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of attendance for all permanent employees as well as records of all disciplinary action issued.
  • Promote safety and housekeeping daily.
  • Communicate all policies and other pertinent information to employees.
  • Spend appropriate amount of time on the floor; directing daily operations; interacting with employees and assisting with floor operations as needed in order to meet daily goals.
  • Mentor, Counsel, Empower and Develop staff to provide the highest quality of customer service to Distributors and internal staff.
  • Run and maintain all daily reports as instructed by Manager. This may include additional reports in absence of Manager.
  • Maintain all department procedures and SOP’s.
  • Write and conduct reviews with employees every 6 months.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, Outlook, Excel and Word, manifest systems and either AS400 or HP based warehouse management system
  • Ability to lead time and attendance software for payroll/attendance purposes
  • Knowledge of Cirrus Shipping System
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively mentor, counsel, and provide mentorship when necessary, demonstrating integrity and fairness to staff.
  • Ability to interact and carry out responsibilities under general supervision and maintain a professional demeanor. Ability to interact at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity and function as an effective team member.
  • Good leadership, planning and ability to prioritize workload for effective implementation.
  • Ability to adapt as the eternal environment and organization evolves.

Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years’ experience managing a team in a distribution/warehouse environment
  • Experience with warehouse equipment including conveyors, tapers, strappers, box erectors, RF guns
  • Analyse and implement corrective actions to make sure quality and productivity are at consistently high levels, and business objectives are met across all shifts 

Education:

  • High school education or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Knowledge/Skills in Oracle
  • 2 years college or Associates
  • Bachelor’s Degree concentration in business, supply chain management, or logistics
  • Knowledge of general inventory processes
  • Forklift experience
